Reading Gmails in your mail client

Gmails POP feature lets you download messages from Gmail's servers onto your computer so you can access your mail with a program like Microsoft Outlook Express, so that you can access them even if you are offline.But these mails can only be read from POP programs.

Gmail has a default tool that lets you configure your Microsoft mail client. But can even manually do it.

  • Run the auto-configuration tool.
  • Click 'Open,' .
  • Select the program you'd like to use with Gmail.
  • Enter your Gmail username (everything before '@gmail.com') in the 'E-mail address:' field.
  • Enter your name in the 'Display name:' field.
  • Click 'Configure.'
