Gmail has a great feature that tells you whether the message was sent only to you or to a bunch of people or to a mailing list. Besides messages you may find arrow mark.These indicate wheather the message was personel or not.
- If you find no arrow that means it's send to a mailing list.
- If there is single > arrow then it's sent toYour address and not to a mailing list.
- If there is double arrow >> then it's a personal message.
By default this is enable to all in case if it isn't enabled to you then Go to "settings" and enable it.
