Store your mails permanently

Even though Gmail is the biggest you cant store all your mails permanently coz you will reach the celling one day.Theres is trick to store it permanently. This could also serve as a backup of your important mails.

  • Create a new Google Group.
  • Give it a relevant name like Orkuttricks backup.
  • Chuck all other fill ups expect the group id. Chooose a id such as Otbackup
  • Click on "Group Settings"
  • Select the acess tab
  • Set Access level to “Restricted” so that only you can view it.
  • Now visit the advanced tab
  • In the “Advanced” tab, click on the “Use Google Groups to manage remote archive” option.
  • Enter your GMail address here.
  • Visit teh gen
  • Click “Save Changes”.


Now Log on to your GMail account.

  • Save Your id "otbackup @googlegroups.com"
  • Click on “Settings.”
  • Vist the "forwarding and POP" tab.
  • Enter the above email. ans save it.

Now if you manually want to decide which one to fwd and which one not to then dont put up for automatic fwding but manually fwd the mails.

If you want to fwd only mails from a id/some specfic tag then

  • Click on “Settings.”
  • Vist the "Filter" tab.
  • Set up a filter.
  • Cilick "Next"
  • Now Select the Fwding option.
  • Enter the above email. ands save it.
