Google has announced the acquisition of ImageAmerica, a company that builds high-resolution cameras for the collection of aerial imagery. ImageAmerica has previously provided images for Google Maps and Earth, including high-resolution black and white imagery of New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina.
The old image-america.com page got pulled and everything under it. Now the site just carries the messge

ImageAmerica supplied Google Earth with high-resolution aerial photos of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina struck in 2005 .
The latlong blog says that
"We're excited about how ImageAmerica's technology will contribute to our mapping services down the road. Since we're in the research and development phase right now it may be some time before you see any of this imagery in Google Maps or Earth "
