New add format--- Headline animator ad

Most Feedburner are aware of the headline animator . I gives the last five feeds titles in a animator as below. If a user clicks on the title he will be redirected to that story. It looks like this.

Now you Feedburner has converted this into ads. It's called Headline Animator ads. Basically it's an ad unit that displays the most recent headlines from your source feed, placed in the feed ad network reaching millions of feed subscribers. Headline Animators sized 468x60 pixels or 468x120 pixels may be placed as ads in feeds. Since headline animator is fully customisable you make sure that ads look just the way you want it to look.

Your ads will run in an a channel, broad category such as Business,Consumer Electronics etc or a Network, a group of related FeedBurner publishers, organized by a fellow publisher around topics like Music, Venture Capital or Politics.

This would cost you a minimum of 25$ per week.Why is this so costly?? Be cause if a fellow succribes your feed he will be reading your sites contect every time you update it. Unless he unsuccribes it you have a loyal visitor who would visit your site each tome you update it.

So how do the ads look

It also gives you a detaild reprot just like adwords. To see this you need to go to the “Analyze” tab for your feed, and look for your ad under “Headline Animator Stats” in the left column.
Click-through rates are listed with other ad performance stats on the Analyze tab.

It also allows you automatically renew your account every week so that you don't have to manually select every week.

feeding Gmail

You can always Check you Gmail using your favorite feed reader/RSS Reader. Google Atom Feed allows you to do so. You can add Gmail to your RSS feed reader that supports feed authentication.

This allows you to read your unread mail — the subjects and senders as well as a part of the message body .Once You click on the heading you are directed to your message

To do so

• Go to your feed reader.
• Set up a new feed
• Enter "https://gmail.google.com/gmail/feed/atom" in the URL field.
• Enter your Gmail user name when prompted for a user name. Use your Gmail password as the feed's password, too.

If that does not work as in case of feedburner, try using "https://[your Gmail user name]:[your Gmail password]@gmail.google.com/gmail/feed/atom"

If you want mails pertain to a particular label then add the name of the label at the end of the URL.
"https://....../atom/LableName"

In case of feedburner and some other feedreaders only header/subject is visible .

all about mybrand

I will explain here all about feedburner's mydrand now that it's free for all.

MyBrand lets you change the feed url to "feed.yourdomain.com" insted of feeds.feedburner.com/neme. The feeds.feedburner.com address is still valid, and feeds.yourdomain.com is just an alternate URL that users can use to access your feed.

But before you begin you need to know some thing.

Do you have acess to change / modify dns records /cname .If you cant you cant use it.

In addition to this there are some terminologies you need to know

• DNS- Your DNS or Domain Name Server is the system that allows your web site to be displayed when the user types in www.coolexample.com.


• CNAME- It is Internet-Speak for an alias or shortcut from one Internet name to another. It allows you to say "Send all of the traffic for feeds.yourdomain.com to feeds.feedburner.com."

To get started:

1- Sign in to your FeedBurner account
2- Click My Account
3- Click MyBrand, enter your domains and activate


To stop using MyBrand:

1- Sign in to your FeedBurner account
2- Click My Account
3- Click MyBrand, then click "Deactivate"
4- With your registrar, remove the CNAME entries from your domain's DNS record

Controlling feed size

If you are a blogger user you can control the feed size

You need to add a parameter to the address for your Original Feed . Here's how to do it:

1. Sign in to your FeedBurner account.

2. Click the title of your FeedBurner feed on the My Feeds page.

3. Click on Edit Feed Details… link just below your feed's title.

4. In the Original Feed Address field, change the address as following:

http://myblogname.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default

to

http://myblogname.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?max-results=3


5. Click Save Feed Details.

max-results sets the number of posts you want to have appear in your FeedBurner feed. Any integer value between 1 and 500 is permitted.

Proper feeds

By default, Blogger sorts items in its original feeds by their date, not by their date. They do this so that if you update a really old post, it jumps right back to the top of your feed so subscribers can see what you've changed. However, there are publishers who have contacted us stating that they really don't like this behavior and wondered if FeedBurner could re-sort items in their feed. Fortunately, no service is needed from us; just a small adjustment to your FeedBurner feed's "Original Feed" address is needed to make sure Blogger always sorts your items by date alone.

To make this change, sign into your account, click on your feed's title, and then click the "Edit Feed Details..." link near the top of the feed management page for your feed. In the "Original Feed" field that appears, change the address from something like:

http://orkuttricks.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default

to

http://orkuttricks.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?orderby=published

Then click [Save Feed Details]. FeedBurner will immediately rescan the original feed, which should now be sorted by published date alone. Your FeedBurner feed will faithfully reflect the changes you made under the hood to the Blogger source feed. Good times!

Feeding password protected pages

What if you want feedburner to access password protected feeds?? think it's impossible??then the answer is no..You can do it.

If the feed you want to burn is password protected, you can just include the user name and password right in the URL itself .
Like this: http://user:password@www.domain.com/index.xml.

Just remember that FeedBurner feeds are not password protected unless you use the "Password Protector" service to "re-protect" your burned feed.

If you think the titile has been misspelt, then think again. Google has made FeedBurner completely Free. It's paid service MyBrand and FeedBurner Stats PRO are now free.

This is not the first time Google did so .It has done several times in the past with Google Earth, Picasa, SketchUp, and Google Analytics. Not only this even , also from feedburner is now free

MyBrand lets you take the FeedBurner service to a new level by using your own domain name as the feed URL. This has several advantages for all bloggers. Instead of a URL that looks something like http://feeds.feedburner.com/orkuttrick, it’s now possible to have a URL like http://www.orkuttricks.com/Feed or http//feeds.orkuttricks.blogspot.com without giving up the valuable information that FeedBurner provides.

I am yet to switch over .so the above link is just a fake(second one).
